“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character- that is the goal of true education.”

(Martin Luther King Jr. Brian Tracy)

Dear Students,

I extend a warm welcome to you all to an outstanding learning institution, where everyone is dedicated to a high standard of excellence "The Khalsa College of Law". The College is determined to provide meticulous multidisciplinary legal education with a vision to generate proficient and mindful legal professionals and scholars. We truly have a fantastic college with a supportive and involved parent community, dedicated and highly skillful management, staff, excellent recourses and infrastructure and the most fantastic students to work with.

The Khalsa College of Law embarked in the arena of imparting legal education in 2012. It is a matter of great honour that the foundation stone of this prestigious institution was laid by the then Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Mr. Justice Altamas Kabir in the benevolent presence of legal dignitaries like Hon’ble Mr. Justice D.K. Jain, learned Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.K. Sikri, the then Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Jasbir Singh and Hon’ble Justice S.S. Saron of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The College is constantly striving to maintain a pre-eminent standard of legal education which is well reflected in the top university ranks secured continuously by our students across all courses.

To serve as the first regular Principal of Khalsa College of Law deems it to be celestial bliss for me. My job has been extremely arduous and demanding to include the College among the acclaimed law colleges in India. I deeply acknowledge the unconditional support and cooperation of all faculty members and their constant efforts to make education a warm experience for students.

Our college symbolizes the principle of unity in diversity as students from various states of our country, like J&K, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, U.P., Delhi, Chandigarh, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Haryana, etc., are enrolled in the institution. The college has been earnestly working to produce devoted and capable law graduates. The laborious and committed efforts of management, competent and experienced teaching faculty, and the invaluable cooperation of the administrative staff have made this accomplishment possible.

With the commencement of the 13teenth year of the journey, the College is committed to providing a secure and rationally challenging environment that will enable students to become contemporary thinkers, ingenious problem solvers, and activated learners to face the challenges of this highly competitive world. For the smooth functioning of the College administration various committees like the Admission Committee, Disciplinary Committee, Scholarship Committee, Sports Committee, Cultural Committee, Women's Grievances Committee, Sexual Harassment Committee, Anti-Ragging Committee, etc. have been constituted. The College has created various students clubs for overall personality development, to inculcate the values of commitment, community service, and teamwork and to utilize the time in a constructive manner. Our students participate in various sports events at the college, university, and state levels and have bagged a number of positions and awards in these competitions.

The College has its own NSS and NCC units. The NSS motivates the students to place the community before themselves. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Both of these units conduct special camping programmes and regular activities. Needless to say, our College provides an environment that creates the best citizens for society.

The College building is an exemplary amalgamation of modern and traditional architecture and stands facing a lush green lawn. Besides, the college environment is very favourable for students to achieve essential skills as we bolster their participation in various curricular and co-curricular activities such as Moot-Court Competitions, Trial Advocacy, Debates, Workshops, Seminars, and Class-Room Discussions. Student’s participation in initiatives like plantation drives, blood donations, establishment of Eco-Club and legal literacy camps is part of the college routine.

Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities not only promote creative and critical thinking but also imbibe social and moral values, empathy for nature, honour for Punjab’s culture and tradition and above all, they make students considerate human beings and self-assured leaders.

Students at Khalsa College of Law have open access to a well-furnished moot court, a well-stocked up-to-date library with the latest books, law journals, magazines, legal souvenirs, newspapers and a high-tech computer lab that are highly beneficial in day-to-day study. The College has also expanded legal research by subscribing Manupatra. Our aim is to inculcate legal excellence and leadership qualities in our students. Keeping pace with dynamic changes, the College has a well-managed and organised e-governance and e-lecture system available at www.kclasr.org.

The College has also conducted the Annual Convocation on 27th April, 2024. Justice Jasgurpreet Singh Puri, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court was the Chief Guest of the occasion. 370 students of B.A. (Laws), B.Com. (Laws), B.A., LL.B (FYIC), B.Com., LL.B (FYIC), LL.B (TYC) were awarded degrees during the impressive academic programme.

Under the rich educational heritage of Khalsa College Charitable Society and the subtle foresight of our President, S. Satyajit Singh Majithia Ji, and Honorary Secretary, S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina Ji, our College has become an institution of versatile advancement.

It is a matter of pride for our College that, as a result of the hard work of the staff and commitment of the Management for providing best legal education to the students, the Tribune Guide to Best Colleges has adjudged Khalsa College of Law, Amritsar, as the 2nd Best College of Law in Punjab in its issue dated May 27, 2022.
